An MFN clause guarantees you pricing or terms no worse than the vendor gives comparable customers.
It's protection against discovering later that a similar buyer paid less. MFN clauses are hard to enforce and vendors resist them, but even a narrow version - on renewal pricing, say - removes a common source of buyer regret.
